At its recent meeting, FHLBank Topeka's board of directors approved $13.4 million in affordable housing grants. The grants will fund 21 projects through the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Eleven of the projects will help homeowners, and the remaining 10 will assist with rental housing.

Nonprofit groups, for-profit developers and public entities apply for the grants through an FHLBank member financial institution. Each year, FHLBank Topeka allocates 10% of its prior year’s earnings for AHP.
