At its recent meeting, FHLBank Topeka's board of directors approved $8.9 million in affordable housing grants. The grants will fund 15 projects through the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) in Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska. Eleven of the projects will help homeowners, and the remaining 4 will assist with rental housing.
Nonprofit groups, for-profit developers and public entities apply for the grants through an FHLBank member financial institution. Each year, FHLBank Topeka allocates 10% of its prior year’s earnings for AHP.
Our housing and community development programs are an important part of sustaining our mission, to make a difference by helping our members build their communities.
